 “big colors, bigger feelings”

Hannah Marc, a visual artist whose work uses bold colour and storytelling to explore identity, memory, ancestry, healing and cultural duality. Her practice spans oil painting, digital illustration, teaching and design.presence, reflection and connection.

I am a visual artist, illustrator and designer working across painting, digital illustration and creative storytelling. Through Draw Me Close Illustrations, I make work that holds feeling — bold in colour, intimate in subject and rooted in the stories we inherit, remember and reimagine.
Born in Uganda and raised in Europe, I grew up between cultures, languages and ways of seeing. That in-between space shapes my practice. My work explores identity, ancestry, belonging and the quiet emotional histories carried in the body, the home and the imagination.
Colour is central to how I communicate. In my paintings, it becomes tactile and spiritual — a way to express joy, grief, tenderness, defiance and repair. I am drawn to texture, gesture and contrast: the visible evidence of a hand, a thought, a feeling becoming form.
My practice moves between traditional painting, illustration and design, but the intention remains the same: to create images that make people feel seen, remembered and less alone. Whether working on canvas, digitally or through commissioned projects, I am interested in art as a space for healing, connection and honest self-recognition.
Draw Me Close is an invitation to come nearer — to the work, to memory, and to the parts of ourselves that deserve to be held with care.
